Los Angeles Rooftop

Our most recent installation led us to the heart of Los Angeles. We were tasked with adding privacy and redefining our client’s rooftop space. A wide-open space with a lovely view of the surrounding city, the rooftop had little to offer in terms of privacy. Guests of the space were subjected to neighbors looking in and unsightly views of the vacated rooftops of smaller surrounding buildings. So, how did we help?

Using our UV-rated, maintenance-free, and weather-resistant boxwood, we added custom-sized panels to the existing rooftop railings. The boxwood panels added an extra six inches of height to the transparent railing. The added height quickly blocked the unsightly views of the surrounding buildings and provided increased privacy.

Due to strict building codes, we couldn’t permanently attach the panels to the railings. Normally, we would screw the panels to the existing structure, but we had to work around that to appease the building owner. Instead, we used connectors and the panels went up with ease.

For this installation, once the boxwood panels were connected, the transition was immediately noticeable. The Medium Green Boxwood went well with the existing greenery and added privacy making the rooftop feel secluded and welcoming at the same time.
